"What I am is good enough, if only I would be it openly"- Carl Rogers

Counselling

In the UK counselling, psychotherapy, and therapy are often used interchangeably because they are not legally protected titles. Counselling is a therapeutic relationship that allows you to express feelings of sadness, anger, fear and shame and work through difficult emotions. However, the human experience is never straightforward, and I will also be here to celebrate your moments of success and joy.

I offer therapy with a spiritual and neuro-affirming emphasis as this reflects my sense of self. Whilst I work from the idea that the client is the expert, I am not completely passive and bring my lived experience into the room. I believe in bringing a sense of openness and humour to sessions.

Every session is as unique as you are. Some sessions may involve processing loss and making sense of your situation whereas other sessions may involve working towards life changes. Creative and embodiment practices can be woven into our sessions. This can be through art, collage, poetry, meditation, movement, visualisations, rituals, ancestral, inner child and parts work. I love helping people manifest their intentions.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process since every counsellor possesses a different training and philosophy. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. There’s no obligation to stay with a therapist if it doesn’t feel like the right fit. People change therapists for many reasons, whether it’s the approach or simply not feeling at ease. With clients who have worked with me for a number of sessions, I encourage an ending session. This provides an opportunity to reflect on your progress, acknowledge the work you’ve done, and bring a sense of closure.

The frequency of sessions depends on your needs and what feels right for you. I offer both weekly and bi-weekly sessions. Therapy is most effective when it’s approached with consistency and commitment.
