Guided by Sarah - Therapy & Coaching with Sarah Guthrie
I am a fully insured and qualified counsellor, based in Bristol and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), where I adhere to their code of ethics. I have regular supervision.
In addition to private practice work, I have counselled students online at Durham University and volunteered at The Swan Project in Bristol, an agency that provides trauma-informed therapy for people with complex trauma, loss, and addiction. I am an LGBTQ+ ally.
I love to travel and interact with different cultures. This has deepened my understanding of diverse perspectives and I work from each persons unique cultural frame of reference.
I have recently started offering therapeutic coaching as some clients prefer to work in a more action-orientated way. I have personally received coaching which was of great benefit to me and enhanced my desire to offer this as part of my integrative approach.
When I am not counselling, I love being creative, active and connecting with nature to unwind.
Qualifications:
Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling (accredited) at the University of Worcester and Iron Mill College, Exeter
BACP Stage One – Introduction to Counselling Children and Young People at Iron Mill College, Exeter
Certificate in online and telephone counselling
I am continuously learning and developing in my practice and have undertaken extensive training in trauma and body based approaches as well as further training in addiction, bereavement, loss, and meditation amongst others.
